The Ijebu North East Local Government Hall in Atan came alive on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, as Naija Girls in Tech (NGiT) hosted the TECHVOLUTION Seminar, a community-focused event aimed at preparing the region for a technology-driven future.
The seminar, themed “Bridging Tradition and Technology: Preparing Ijebu North East for the Digital Future,” brought together community leaders, elders, youths, and students to explore digital opportunities and pathways for local development.
The NGiT delegation received a warm reception from the host community, led by the Chairman of Ijebu North East Local Government, Hon. Folusho Badejo, who delivered the welcome address. He commended the initiative and emphasized the importance of equipping young people with digital skills to position the community for future opportunities.
The session was facilitated by the CEO/Founder of Naija Girls in Tech, Olufunmilayo Ogunwo-Adesanya, who laid out a practical framework for leveraging technology to drive socio-economic growth in Ijebu North East. In her presentation, she highlighted how digital literacy, innovation hubs, and youth engagement can stimulate employment, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.
In a forward-looking revelation, she also shared TJDND Group’s long-term vision to develop a smart city by 2040, positioning Ijebu North East as a future-ready hub for innovation, digital enterprise, and sustainable urban growth. In her words, _”We want to bring Silicon Valley to Ijebu North-East, and by extension, to Nigeria”_
The interactive session continued with a lively question-and-answer segment led by NGiT’s Global Director, Omatseye Oti, who addressed participants’ questions on digital careers, technology training pathways, and opportunities within the global digital economy.
Participants expressed enthusiasm about the possibilities presented and showed strong interest in acquiring digital skills and participating in future NGiT programs.
